- In 1972 a clubhouse was built in Renforth. It was built so that
people could learn how to row.
- In 1871 there was a very important race in Renforth. The race was
between the Paris Crew and a crew from England with James Renforth.
James Renforth died before finishing the race.
- In 1985 the Canada Summer Games were held in Saint John. The rowing
races took place in Renforth. Wayne MacFarlane and Chris Flood won
gold in the pair's race.
- In 1924 Hilton Belyea was given an honorary bronze medal for bravery
at the Olympics in Paris.
- In 2000 Ed Winchester became an International Champion. He won the
pair's race in Croatia with another man from Canada.
- In 1870 the Paris Crew lost for the first time ever. They lost to
a crew from England that was led by James Renforth. The race was in
Lachine, Quebec.
- In 1971 a crew from England came to Renforth to race against a team
from Halifax. This was 100 years after James Renforth died. The race
was in memory of the race between the Paris Crew and James Renforth
it was called "The Centennial Race."
- In 1867 four men from Saint John went to Paris and won the International
Rowing Regatta. From then on they were called the Paris Crew.
- In 1996 there was a regatta held in Renforth. It was called "Regatta
125" because it was 125 years after James Renforth's death. Four
men from England came and rowed against a crew from Renforth. The
Renforth team won.
