Samuel Hutton

Born in Coleraine, Ireland in 1847.
Came to Saint John when he was three with his family because of the potato famine in Ireland.
He was a fisherman.
The first member of the Paris Crew to begin rowing in races, 1859.
Sat in the "second seat" of the boat in the Paris Crew.
He was six feet and nine inches tall.
Weighed one hundred and fifty-seven pounds when he was rowing.
After the Paris Crew retired he kept rowing in races.
He didn't have any children but he was married.
Died by drowning in a sailboat race in 1894 in the Saint John Harbor.
