St. Catharines, Ont. - Chris Flood and Wayne MacFarlane, both of Kennebecasis Park, represented Saint John High School here at the Canadian Open High School Rowing Championships on the weekend and they did themselves and their school proud.

On Saturday, they won their heats in both the pair’s lightweights and heavy weight divisions while on Sunday the two members of the New Brunswick Canada Games rowing squad captured the lightweight god medal and finished second in the heavyweight division.

They beat out teams from Buffalo, N Y., St. Catharines and Notre Dame in gold medal performance while in the second place finish they lost out to Upper Canada College, near Toronto.

The two rowers train at the Kennebecasis Rowing and Canoe Club in Renforth.
