Inquest into Renforth's death

The Result of the Renforth Inquest will, of course, satisfy all as to the cause of death of the oarsman. The medical testimony is very conclusive and shows that every possible way has been taken to make a through investigation. The evidence of Prof. Jackson, in particular, where the minute and perfect chemical tests were applied is of a very interesting nature. This evidence was given in a particularly clear and intelligible manner, and could not but fill the listener with equal admiration of the vast resources at the command of science. The most delicate and approved process failed to detect the slightest trace of poisonous substance, and the matter is placed beyond a doubt by the investigation of the great American scientific laborer. His concluding words are:

The result of my examination is: that no poison of any name or nature existed in the stomach and contents of the same, submitted to my examination.

Thus is the sad affair at last at an end.
