Kennebecasis Rowing Club has done it again and won the James F. Renforth trophy.

Heavy competition was the order of the day when teams from Fredericton, Dalhousie, Quebec, Ontario and Dartmouth, N.S., participating in this years Regatta.

It was no easy sailing for The Kennebecasis Club, but the boys gave it all they had and it paid off.

Members of the winning team were Dave Allan, Mark Allan, Wayne McConnell, Steven Gaunce and Andy Messer.

A lot of credit must go to one man for the time and hard work he's put into helping this club. Dave and Mark Allan says they owe a lot to the dedication of their coach Keith Rateliff.

Mr. Rateliff came to Canada in 1975 from Northampton, England, where he was a great oarsman winning 20 senior regattas in sculls, pairs and fours, competed in five Royal Henley Regattas. Within three months after hecame to Canada Keith got involved in rowing and from there he started coaching the boys and girls. Mr. Ratcliff is married to the former Karin Burgess and they have three children. But all the boys on his team are part of his family too as he spent so much time with them out on the water and also in keeping them in shape year around not just spring and summer. Mr. Ratcliff's time and hard work has been well rewarded in the respect and confidence these young men and women have in him and they are out to prove it by being a winning team all the way and they're not slowing down now but going on to win many more events.
