SAN FRANCISCO - Brian Flood of Saint John captured a pair of gold medals at the United States national rowing championships which concluded here over the weekend.

Flood, 22, won the junior light-weight singles and the senior light- weight singles events while placing fourth in the lightweight singles dash that was won by Paul Fuchs of Detroit, Mich. Fuchs was a silver medalist at the World championships.

Flood was the only New Brunswicker at the U.S. nationals. He will now return to St. Catharines, Ont. to prepare for the Canadian championships in August.
