Ideal Weather At St. Catharines

Oarsmen to Compete This Afternoon

St. Catharines, Ont., July 29- The final day of the regatta being held here opened with every indication of ideal weather. The sky is cloudless and there is only a slight breeze, which is cooler than prevailed yesterday. The big senior championship events of the meet are on today’s card. The senior singles is down to be rowed at 4:30 with the following competitors:

St. John R.C., Hilton Belyea; University of Toronto R.D. Huestis; Mutual Rowing Club, Edward McGuire; Don R.C., R.G. Dibble; Bachelor Barge Club, Philadelphia, W.E.G. Gilmore; Argonaut R.C., John Durnam; West Side R.C. Buffalo, R. Sherman.

The senior eights in near the bottom end if the programme is adhered to will be fought out after 5:30 o’clock. The following are entered:

Ottawa R.C.; S.M. Duncan, stroke; Argos R.C., J. Steer, stroke; Lachine R.C., J.D. McPherson, stroke; University of Toronto, L. Wallace, stroke.

Detroit has two boats in the 140 pound eights, one stroked by E.M. Iverham, and the other by C.W. Batty. The other entrants are from Argos and Lachine.

The Bachelor Barge Club, of Philadelphia, and the West Side Club, of Buffalo, each have crews in the senior fours.
