Regatta Today Biggest Outdoor Event Of Season

Monster Program Of Water Sports And Other Entertainment To Be Run Off At Renforth This Afternoon And Evening

Assuming the co-operation of the weatherman is forthcoming, the regatta and fair scheduled to be held at Renforth this afternoon, promises to be one of the biggest outdoor events of the season.

Sponsored by the Renforth Outing Association, the regatta will include swimming and diving events, canoe racing and tilting, tender, dinghy and cutter races, aquaplaning, speed boating and a life-saving demonstration by E.B. MacLean, Red Cross provincial supervisor of swimming and water safety.

Water craft of the Royal Kennebecasis Yacht Club, The Renforth Yacht Club, the Rothesay Yacht Club and the Saint John Power Boat Club are expected to take part in the numerous events. Also in attendance will be members of the Rodney Corps, Royal Canadian Sea Cadets, and their band.

Being held in conjunction with the regatta, a fair will provide games and amusements for young and old. Lunches and refreshments will be sold on the grounds. All proceeds from the regatta and fair will be added to the Renforth Community House Building Fund.
